INDIANAPOLIS --- Lees-McRae College junior Thomas Rusling (Sheffield, England) is ranked 11th in the nation in total saves in the latest edition of the NCAA Division II men's soccer statistics, announced NCAA officials Tuesday.
Lees-McRae (2-6, 1-1 Conference Carolinas) opened conference play on a high note last weekend, defeating North Greenville University by a score line of 2-0 before dropping a pair of heartbreaking last-gasp decisions to North Georgia College & State University and Queens University of Charlotte. The Bobcats enter the week ranked 29th in the nation in saves per match (5.63) and 41st in save percentage (0.804).
Rusling continues to be ranked among the nation's top goalkeepers, entering the week ranked 11th in the land with 42 total saves. The Sheffield, England native is also ranked 29th in saves per match (5.25) and 52nd in save percentage (0.792).
Lees-McRae returns to the pitch on Wednesday when the Bobcats travel to Belmont, N.C. to take on Belmont Abbey College in conference play at 3:30 p.m.
