TIGERVILLE, S.C. --- Sophomore Pol Vassart continued his offensive surge with a pair of goals while leading the Lees-McRae men's soccer team to a 3-0 win against North Greenville in Conference Carolinas play Wednesday evening at Pepsi Stadium in Tigerville, S.C.
The Bobcats (2-3, 2-0 CC) dominated while holding a 22-1 advantage in shots. The Crusaders (0-3, 0-2) remain winless despite 14 saves from Mateo Barzola.
LMC has defeated NGU in six consecutive seasons.
Vassart (Arnhem, Netherlands) scored twice in 3:34 and is currently tied for first in the conference in goals scored (four).
The sophomore broke a scoreless tie at the 34:02 mark with a goal while Anders Stoakes (Greenville, N.C.) earned the assist.
Vassart wasted no time making it 2-0 with his second goal at 37:36. Junior David Fredrick (Woodsboro, Md.) registered the assist.
Junior Thomas Deeley (Oxford, England) added his third goal of the season for good measure at the 63:20 mark, 3-0. Deeley leads the conference in shots taken (17).
Goalkeeper Tyler Pavlet (Goodyear, Ariz.) picked up the win with one save in 72:13 of action. He has amassed 25 saves this season and is tied for first in the league.
Nathan Watt (Newcastle, United Kingdom) led both teams with six shots.
