Men's Soccer Drops Bout to No. 7 Pfeiffer in High-Scoring Affair

BANNER ELK, N.C. --- Palle Jespersen and Thomas Deeley found the back of the net in a high-scoring affair while the Lees-McRae men's soccer team was handed a 5-2 loss by No. 7 Pfeiffer in a Conference Carolinas match Saturday night at Tate Field in Banner Elk, N.C.

The Falcons (6-1, 2-0 CC) had five different players score while Martim Galvao had a pair of assists. The Bobcats (2-6, 2-3) are only the fifth team to score multiple goals against PU in its last 32 matches.

The visitors struck first when Cristobal Allendes headed in a rebound after his first attempt hit the crossbar.

Jespersen (Arnhem, Netherlands) tied the contest 51 seconds later following an assist from Nathan Watt (Newcastle, United Kingdom).

Deeley (Oxford, England) put LMC up 2-1 after he converted a penalty kick.

PU produced the equalizer less than three minutes into the second half.

Galvao put his team up for good when he buried a free kick from 27 yards out. He earned assists on the next two goals.

Junior Tyler Pavlet (Goodyear, Ariz.) made four saves on the evening.

The Bobcats hit the road for a nonconference match Wednesday, Sep. 28 at Mars Hill at 7 p.m.
