Men's Soccer Falls to Chowan in Conference Play on Monday

BANNER ELK, N.C. - The Lees-McRae College men's soccer team fell in Conference Carolinas play to Chowan 2-0 on Monday (Oct. 8).

Game Summary - Chowan would net the game-winner in the fourth minute when Trevin Myers fed a ball to Denis Roule through the Bobcats defense. Roule beat keeper Anton Sundstrom for his fourth of the season to put the Hawks ahead. Chowan would double their lead in the 20th minute when Toby Sims sent a long ball to Harry Ardron who corralled the pass and then beat his defender and the keeper for his fourth of the season. Chowan would take their lead to the half and then their stingy defense would preserve the shutout.  

Stats Rundown - Chowan out-shot LMC 10-8 in the contest, including 5-4 in shots on goal. Fredrik Haave totaled three shots in the loss, while Anders Stoakes registered two shots and three other Bobcats each tallied one. Sundstrom (5-5-1) made three saves in the loss. LMC also earned five corner kick's to Chowan's four.

Up Next - The Bobcats hit the road on Saturday (Oct. 13) when they travel to Belmont Abbey for a Conference Carolinas contest. Kickoff is slated for 3:30 p.m.
