CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Lees-McRae College swimming programs closed out their first ever appearance at the Conference Carolinas Swimming Championships Saturday in Charlotte. The men’s team closed out the week finishing fifth, while the women’s squad placed sixth.

Overall, there were six different All-Conference Carolinas swims put forth by the Bobcats, which can be added to the list of the many firsts for Lees-McRae during their inaugural campaign.

HIGH POINT, N.C. –Will Hardin and Kaci Thornton of the Lees-McRae College swimming programs were recognized Tuesday by being named to the Academic All-Conference team by the league office. Overall, there were 30 student-athletes to receive this honor.
BANNER ELK, N.C. – The Lees-McRae College swimming teams will compete in their first-ever Conference Carolinas Championship meet this week. The meet, which will run from Wednesday through Saturday, will be held at the Mecklenburg County Aquatic Center in Charlotte, North Carolina. Events begin Wednesday at 5 p.m. and then 10 a.m. on Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
HIGH POINT, N.C. – 167 Lees-McRae College student-athletes were named to the Conference Carolinas Presidential Honor Roll for the fall semester Friday morning by the league office. The conference and its member institutions stress the importance of the motto “Champions in Body, Mind & Soul,” and the student-athletes named to the Presidential Honor Roll exemplify the commitment to being Champions in Mind.
ELIZABETHTON, Tenn. – The Lees-McRae College swimming teams closed out their respective regular seasons Saturday morning in Elizabehton, Tennessee. The Bobcats picked up a trio of team victories to go along with a few individual wins as well.
The Lees-McRae College swimming programs will be back in action Saturday when they compete in Elizabethton, Tennessee. The Bobcats will take on Mars Hill, King and host school Milligan at the meet. The action is scheduled to get underway at 10 a.m. at the Steve Lacy Fieldhouse.
WILLIAMSBURG, Ky. – The Lees-McRae College swimming teams continued to show improvement Saturday on the campus of the University of Cumberlands. Overall, the Bobcats competed against six teams Saturday, and they won four of the matchups.
WILLIAMSBURG, Ky. – The Lees-McRae College swimming programs each picked up a victories Friday afternoon in Kentucky. The men’s team defeated Thomas More University 106-36 but fell to the University of Cumberlands, 127-64. The women’s squad, meanwhile, also defeated Thomas More, 78-50, but dropped a decision to Cumberlands, 142-35.
MEADOWVIEW, Va. – The Lees-McRae College swimming programs picked up a split at Emory & Henry Saturday in their first meet of 2019. The women’s team fell to the Wasps 81-43, but he men’s squad picked up its second win of its inaugural season defeating Emory & Henry 100-61.
BANNER ELK, N.C. – The Lees-McRae College swimming programs will compete for the first time in 2019 this Saturday when it visits Emory & Henry. The Bobcats and Wasps are set to hit the water at 11 a.m.

Against competition from every level of the NCAA along with some nationally-ranked programs, the Bobcats recorded several personal-best marks.

JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. – The Lees-McRae College swimming programs continued to show substantial progress Saturday as they took on Carson-Newman in a non-conference meet. Several new personal and season bests were set for the Bobcats on the day.
GREENSBORO, N.C. – The Lees-McRae College swimming programs made a bit of history Saturday afternoon in Greensboro as both the men’s and women’s squads collected their first overall team victories in their inaugural season. The men’s team defeated Greensboro College 67-28, while the women’s team also defeated GC, 36-35.
BANNER ELK, N.C. – The Lees-McRae College swimming teams will return to action Saturday as they will travel to take on Greensboro College. LMC and GC are scheduled to get underway at 1 p.m.
MARS HILL, N.C. – The Lees-McRae College swimming programs dropped a pair of contests to Mars Hill Saturday afternoon. The women’s team fell to Lions by a final score of 172-39, while the men’s squad dropped a 157-77 decision to MHU. Individually, the Bobcats collected six event wins on the day.

HIGH POINT, N.C. – The Lees-McRae College men’s swimming team was picked to finish fifth in the Conference Carolinas Preseason Coaches’ Poll the league office announced Friday afternoon. The Bobcats, who are set to begin their inaugural season next week, are figured to be led by JD McCray, Arsham Mirzaei and Javier Sanchez. Those three swimmers were picked as swimmers to watch for the team in 2018-19.
BANNER ELK, N.C. – Lees-McRae College’s Head Swimming Coach Sean Weddell announced the hiring of Hannah Snyder as an assistant coach Wednesday afternoon. Snyder, who recently graduated from Appalachian State with a Master’s Degree in exercise science, will be an integral part of the brand new swimming programs for Lees-McRae. Both programs are set to begin their first year of competition in a couple weeks.
