Men’s Swimming picked to finish fifth in Conference Carolinas Preseason Poll

HIGH POINT, N.C. – The Lees-McRae College men's swimming team was picked to finish fifth in the Conference Carolinas Preseason Coaches' Poll the league office announced Friday afternoon. The Bobcats, who are set to begin their inaugural season next week, are figured to be led by John David McCray, Arsham Mirzaei and Javier Sanchez. Those three swimmers were picked as swimmers to watch for the team in 2018-19.

Emmanuel took the top spot in Friday's poll after collecting four of the five first-place votes and 40 points overall. Barton, which finished second with 37 points, picked up the fifth and final first-place nod. Closing out the poll were Chowan (33 points), King (32 points) and Lees-McRae (28 points).

The first ever season of Lees-McRae swimming will begin next Saturday when the Bobcats head down the mountain to Bristol, Tennessee to compete in a tri-meet against Milligan and King.
