GREENSBORO, N.C. – The Lees-McRae College swimming programs made a bit of history Saturday afternoon in Greensboro as both the men's and women's squads collected their first overall team victories in their inaugural season. The men's team defeated Greensboro College 67-28, while the women's team also defeated GC, 36-35.

Even with Lees-McRae bringing a total of six swimmers combined to Greensboro, all the Bobcats that made the trip seemed to have some level of success. The two swimmers from the women's squad that competed, Carlee Hoagland and Kayla Fleming, picked up individual wins, while the four swimmers from the men's team in Will Hardin, Arsham Mirzaei, Javier Sanchez and John David McCray each scored individual victories on the day as well. For Hoagland, Hardin and McCray, it marks their first event victories of the season.

The Bobcats will look to build upon this success in their next meet, which will take place in Knoxville, Tennessee on November 10. In that contest Lees-McRae will take on Carson-Newman beginning at 1 p.m.
