BANNER ELK, N.C. – The Lees-McRae College swimming programs will compete for the first time in 2019 this Saturday when it visits Emory & Henry. The Bobcats and Wasps are set to hit the water at 11 a.m.
Last Time Out – Lees-McRae was last in action in mid-November at the three-day Fall Frenzy Invitational in Charlotte. As far as team scores go, the men's team placed 10th among the 12 teams for the three-day event. The women's team, meanwhile, finished 13th among 14 squads. The men's squad outscored Chowan and St. Andrews, while the women's team outpaced Pfeiffer.
Strong start for the program – The 2018-19 campaign has served as a building season for the Bobcats as this year is the first that the programs are competing against other institutions. Lees-McRae as a whole and its individual student-athletes have seen steady progress through the 2018 portion of its schedule. Highlighting the season thus far has been the programs' first-ever team victories over Greensboro College on October 27 and several individual event victories to their credit.
About Emory & Henry – The Wasps have won four head-to-head meets so far on the women's side along with two more triumphs in men's swimming. Emory & Henry last competed on December 2 when they competed at the Washington and Lee Invitational where its teams placed fourth and fifth out of six teams.
