Bobcats Fall to #16 Lander

Greenwood, SC--The Bobcats only managed to claim one win against #16 nationally ranked and regional competitor, Lander University, Monday afternoon in Greenwood, SC in men's tennis action. The Bobcats, now 7-6 overall and 2-1 in Conference Carolinas will continue their two-match road trip at Erskine College Tuesday. Lander (11-3) will also resume play tomorrow when they play host to Barton College.

In #1 singles, Nandor Solymosi (Drebecen, Hungary) succumbed to nationally ranked #42 Guilherme Fonseca, 6-3, 6-3. Alek Mojski (Berlin, Germany) battled in the closest singles match of the day before falling 6-4, 7-5, while Shaun Sumner (Burlington, NC) grabbed the lone victory for the Bobcats, beating his opponent 6-4, 6-0 for his third consecutive win.

In doubles action, it was Mojski again who was part of the tightest contest of the day. Teamed up with Romulus Teague, the junior/sophomore duo forced the match to extra games before falling 9-7.
