BREVARD, N.C. – After a burst of rain postponed play Saturday, the Lees-McRae College men's tennis team and Brevard College resumed their match Tuesday afternoon. The Bobcats ended up dropping the match by a 7-2 score. The loss drops LMC's record to 1-4 on the season.
Sophomore Cole Douglas-Fields had a part in both of LMC's victories Tuesday. Douglas-Fields and his doubles partner Sebastian Zuhr picked up a 9-8 over Brevard's Cre Still and Will Christiansen. In singles play, Douglas-Fields notched a 6-3, 6-2 victory over BC's Chris Plasa out of the No. 5 position.
The Bobcats will open conference play with a pair of road matches this weekend. LMC will begin the weekend with a match at Emmanuel (GA) on Friday before heading to Erskine on Saturday. First serves for the two matches are scheduled for 1 p.m. and 10 a.m., respectively.
