BANNER ELK, N.C. – Following a few postponements, the Lees-McRae College men's tennis team will return to action this Saturday when it hosts Belmont Abbey. The Bobcats and Crusaders are set to get underway at 11 a.m.
About the Bobcats – LMC enters Saturday's match with a record of 1-5 on the 2016-17 season. The Bobcats' lone victory this season came at Greensboro College on Feb. 10, 9-0. Individually, the Bobcats have a trio of players that have two singles victories this season in Thomas Deeley, Cole Douglas-Fields and Garrett Lakey. Lakey and Douglas-Fields are also a part of the team's top doubles pairings when teamed with Gabriel Muniz and Sebastian Zuhr, respectively. Both of those two teams have two wins on the season.
About the Crusaders – Belmont Abbey comes into this weekend's play with the most wins of any Conference Carolinas team this season with 10. Overall, the Crusaders boast a record of 10-6 and won their lone league match of 2017 with a 5-4 win over Limestone. George Barfoot has led BAC in singles action with a record of 9-4. Meanwhile in doubles action, the duo of Zach Blythe and Grant Goldin pace the Crusaders with a 6-1 record.
