Men’s Tennis picked to finish 10th in Conference Carolinas Preseason Coaches’ Poll

HIGH POINT, N.C. – The Lees-McRae College men's tennis team was selected to finish 10th in the Conference Carolinas Preseason Coaches' Poll Tuesday afternoon. Senior Gabriel Muniz and freshman Matthew Meluch were tabbed as players to watch for the Bobcats this spring.

LMC, which is under new leadership this spring as Lt. Col. Rodger Acklin takes the helm of his alma mater, will look to improve on last season's 1-15 overall record and a 0-10 mark in conference matches. Lees-McRae will have a new look on the court this season with three new players among three returners. Muniz is joined by Sebastian Zuhr and Brandon Caldwell as players who competed for LMC last spring, while Meluch figures to lead the group of newcomers that includes Rusty Batten and Colton Porter.

The Bobcats will open their 2018 season this Sunday when they take on Appalachian State in Boone, N.C. Sunday's match is set to get underway at 9 a.m.
