BANNER ELK, N.C. – Under the direction of new Head Coach Rodger Acklin, the Lees-McRae College men's tennis team will look to take some steps forward this season, which begins this Sunday at Appalachian State. First serve between the Bobcats and Mountaineers is set for 9 a.m.

Preseason Prediction – Conference Carolinas unveiled its 2018 Preseason Coaches' Poll on Tuesday and the Bobcats were picked to finish 10th. Senior Gabriel Muniz and freshman Matt Meluch were selected as players to watch.

Season Rewind – LMC went 1-16 overall and 0-10 in conference play last season. Due to graduation, the Bobcats did lose Garrett Lakey and Tom Deeley. Lakey paced the team in singles victories last season, while also teaming with Muniz to hold the team-lead in doubles wins.

Meluch is joined by fellow freshmen Rusty Batten and Colton Porter as newcomers to the squad. Additionally, Lees-McRae also returns three players from last season's team in Muniz, Sebastian Zuhr and Brandon Caldwell.

Series History – Appalachian State has won eight straight over the Bobcats since 2008, including a 9-0 victory last season in Boone.
