Lees-McRae Tennis teams prep for three conference matches on the road this week

BANNER ELK, N.C. – The Lees-McRae College tennis teams will return to action this week with three conference matches away from Banner Elk. Both the men's and women's teams will take on King Tuesday at the Bristol Indoor Tennis Courts at 7:30 p.m. Following their matchups against the Tornado, the Bobcats will travel to Mount Olive Friday and Belmont Abbey Saturday to close out their week. The contests at UMO are slated to begin at 2 p.m., while the matches at BAC don't have a defined start time as of yet.

Men's Preview – The men's team hopes to collect its first victory this week with those three matches on tap. LMC is currently 0-4 on the season with all four of those contests being non-conference tilts. Lees-McRae has been led so far this spring by the duo of Matt Meluch and Gabriel Muniz who have accounted for four of the five team's single victories on the campaign. Muniz, who has played exclusively from the No. 1 singles spot in 2018, also had a part in the team's lone win in doubles with fellow senior Sebastian Zuhr.

Women's Preview – LMC has gotten off to fast start this spring boasting a 3-1 record overall. In singles action, the Bobcats collectively have a mark of 16-8, and an impressive record of 10-2 in doubles matchups. Sophomore Emily Harrison currently leads LMC with a perfect 8-0 record this spring across singles and doubles action. In addition, Harrison is one of two Bobcats to be named the conference's player of the week this season along with teammate Sandy Allen.
