Bobcats shut out Warren Wilson at home on Saturday

BANNER ELK, N.C. - The Lees-McRae College men's tennis team shut out visiting Warren Wilson in its first match of the spring season 7-0 on Saturday (Feb. 9).

The Bobcats earned one doubles point with two wins, while sweeping singles play to get the win at home.

James Kirkham and Harrison Morris beat Isaac Davis and Tristan Perryman 6-2 at No. 1 doubles, before Colton Porter and Matt Meluch shut out Kezar Berger and Leonardo Borges 6-0 at No. 2.

Porter would best Davis 6-1, 6-0 at No. 1 singles, before Morris defeated Perryman 8-3 at No. 2. Kirkham defeated Berger 8-2 at No. 3, while Meluch blanked Borges 8-0 at No. 4.

The Bobcats (2-1) are back in action next Saturday (Feb. 16) at Lee, with the match slated for a 12 p.m. start.
