Men's Tennis falls to Lee on the road on Saturday

CLEVELAND, Tenn. - The Lees-McRae College men's tennis team was defeated by Lee University in non-conference action 7-0 on Saturday (Feb. 16).

The Flames swept doubles play for one point before going on to sweep singles play.

Miodrag Popovic and Fitzgerald Lomp fell at No. 1 doubles 6-2, before Matt Meluch and James Kirkham were swept at No. 2 doubles 6-0 and Brandon Caldwell and Colton Porter were also blanked at No. 3 doubles.

Popovic fell at No. 1 singles 6-0, 6-1, before Lomp dropped his No. 2 singles match 6-1, 6-1. Meluch fell at No. 3 singles 6-2, 6-2, before Kirkham was defeated at No. 4 singles 6-1, 6-1. Caldwell was defeated at No. 5 singles 6-2, 6-0, before Porter was bested at No. 6 singles 6-3, 6-2.

The Bobcats (2-2) are back in action on Thursday (Feb. 21) at Catawba. The match is slated for a 2 p.m. start.
