Men's Tennis defeats Milligan for Saturday road win

BRISTOL, Tenn. - The Lees-McRae College men's tennis team beat Milligan 4-1 on the road on Saturday (Feb. 23) at the Bristol Indoor Tennis Facility for its third win of the season.

Lees-McRae took two out of three doubles matches for one point, before winning three out of four singles matches to clinch the victory.

Matt Meluch and James Kirkahm teamed up for a 6-3 win at No. 2 doubles, while Brandon Caldwell and Colton Porter won at No. 3 doubles 6-4.

Miodrag Popovic grinded out a 2-6, 6-4, 6-3 win at No. 1 singles, while Meluch earned a 6-2, 6-3 win at No. 3 single. Kirkham clinched the match at No. 4 singles with a 6-3, 7-6 (8-6 tiebreaker) win.

Lees-McRae (3-2) is back in action tomorrow (Sunday, Feb. 24) to take on Johnson C. Smith in non-conference competition. First serve is set for 12 p.m.
