    BANNER ELK, N.C. – The Lees-McRae College men’s tennis team’s 2018 season came to an end Saturday morning as Erskine knocked off the Bobcats by a score of 7-2. The loss closes out LMC’s record at 1-15 overall and 0-10 in conference action this spring.

    BANNER ELK, N.C. – The Lees-McRae College men’s tennis team battled Emmanuel College Friday afternoon in Conference Carolinas action, but ended up falling to the Lions, 8-1. The loss moves LMC’s record this spring to 1-14 overall and 0-9 within conference action.

    BANNER ELK, N.C. – The Lees-McRae College tennis teams will wrap up their regular seasons this weekend with home matches against Emmanuel and Erskine. LMC will host the Lions Friday afternoon at 2 p.m. before taking on the Flying Fleet in a pair of late-morning matches on Saturday beginning at 11 a.m.

  • LMC Tennis teams open the month of April with three conference matches

    BANNER ELK, N.C. – The Lees-McRae College men’s and women’s tennis teams will have a busy start to the month of April this week with three Conference Carolinas matches on tap. LMC will begin the week with a trip to Limestone on Tuesday before returning to Banner Elk this weekend to host Chowan Saturday and Barton Sunday. Tuesday’s matches are scheduled for 3 p.m. start times, while the home matches against the Hawks and Bulldogs are both slated to begin at 1 p.m.

    BRISTOL, Tenn. – The Lees-McRae College men’s tennis team picked up its first victory of the 2018 season Wednesday night in Bristol, Tennessee as the Bobcats defeated UVa-Wise by a score of 8-1 in a non-conference match up. The victory boosts LMC’s record to 1-7 on the season.

    CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Lees-McRae College track and field programs closed out their first competition of the outdoor season Saturday in Charlotte, North Carolina at the 49er Classic. Overall, the Bobcats had a trio of top 30 finishes, including one top 10 nod.
  • Lees-McRae Tennis teams prep for three conference matches on the road this week

    BANNER ELK, N.C. – The Lees-McRae College tennis teams will return to action this week with three conference matches away from Banner Elk. Both the men’s and women’s teams will take on King Tuesday at the Bristol Indoor Tennis Courts at 7:30 p.m. Following their matchups against the Tornado, the Bobcats will travel to Mount Olive Friday and Belmont Abbey Saturday to close out their week. The contests at UMO are slated to begin at 2 p.m., while the matches at BAC don’t have a defined start time as of yet.

    HIGH POINT, N.C. – 157 Lees-McRae College student-athletes were named to the 2017 Fall Conference Carolinas Presidential Honor Roll on Thursday morning by the league office. Eight teams had 10 or more student-athletes honored with the men’s and women’s soccer squads leading the way with 19 and 18 honorees, respectively.

    HIGH POINT, N.C. – The Lees-McRae College men’s tennis team was selected to finish 10th in the Conference Carolinas Preseason Coaches’ Poll Tuesday afternoon. Senior Gabriel Muniz and freshman Matthew Meluch were tabbed as players to watch for the Bobcats this spring.
  • Lieutenant Colonel Rodger Acklin named new Head Men’s and Women’s Tennis Coach at Lees-McRae

    BANNER ELK, N.C. – Lees-McRae College’s Vice President of Athletics and Club Sports Craig McPhail announced Thursday morning the hiring of Lieutenant Colonel Rodger Acklin as the school’s new Head Men’s and Women’s Tennis Coach. Acklin, who is a former Bobcat tennis player himself, is a 1997 graduate of Lees-McRae.
