Fletcher nabs second straight Southeast Region Coach of the Year honors

NEW ORLEANS --- Lees-McRae College men's track and field coach Ley Fletcher has been named the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association Southeast Region Coach of the Year during the indoor season for the second straight year, announced USTFCCCA officials Sunday.

Lees-McRae topped the region poll for much of the indoor season, concluding the campaign ranked No. 1 in the Southeast Region. Fletcher's squad featured regionally-ranked individuals in nine different events, including sophomore Brandon Williams (Raleigh, N.C.) in the 60-meter dash and sophomore Evan Webb (Salisbury, N.C.) in the pole vault.

The Bobcats enjoyed a tremendous indoor season, posting 26 individual top-10 finishes and three school records. The Bobcats recorded their most impressive performance of the campaign on Feb. 19, tallying 15 top-10 showings, 10 personal-bests, and one school record at Appalachian State University's ASU Invitational.

Lees-McRae returns to action on Mar. 17 when the Bobcats travel to Winston-Salem, N.C. to participate in the Wake Forest Invitational, hosted by Wake Forest University.
