Saintine paces five on all-Southeast Region team

NEW ORLEANS --- Sophomore Nazaire Saintine (Douglassville, Ga.) headlines a group of five Lees-McRae College student-athletes on the 2012 United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association Division II Outdoor Men's Track & Field all-Southeast Region team, announced USTFCCCA officials Wednesday.

Saintine was joined on the all-region team by Kendell Davis (Douglassville, Ga.), Kevin Dever (Leesburg, N.J.), Bradley King (Hildebran, N.C.), and Evan Webb (Salisbury, N.C.).

Saintine garnered all-region honors in the high jump, long jump, and triple jump after establishing new school records in each event this season. The Douglassville, Ga. native posted a school-record and provisional nationally qualifying mark of 2.06 meters in the high jump this spring, while establishing program marks of 13.92 and 6.97 meters in the triple and long jump, respectively.

Davis earned all-region honors in the long jump as well, while Dever and Webb each garnered all-region recognition in the pole vault after claiming the top two spots at the Conference Carolinas Championships with identical marks of 4.40 meters earlier this spring. King also garnered all-region recognition in the 400-meter hurdles.

Lees-McRae is expected to return 24 athletes from this year's squad, including rising seniors Dever, King, Josh Oliver (North Wilkesboro, N.C.) and Brandon Williams (Raleigh, N.C.).
