BOONE, N.C. --- Three LMC indoor track and field records fell and one was tied while the Lees-McRae track and field teams impressed at the Appalachian State Open Friday and Saturday in Boone, N.C.
Freshman Tyree Reed (Phenix City, Ala.) set a new school record in the 55-meter dash with a blistering time of 6.53 seconds while claiming sixth in a DI-heavy field.
On the women's side, Erin Bingham (Jefferson, N.C.) continued her highly-touted LMC career by establishing a new school record in the 55-meter hurdles with a time of 8.50 seconds.
Freshman Kyandra Anderson (College Park, Ga.) didn't waste any time in her Bobcat debut by swiping the 200-meter dash record with a 26.49 second mark.
Senior Malcolm Peeler (Raleigh, N.C.) matched a school record by matching Nazaire Saintine's 13.95-meter mark in the triple jump. Peeler claimed a top-five finish with a leap of 6.89 meters in the long jump.
Bobcat freshman Gabriel Blackmon (College Park, Ga.) grabbed sixth in the 200-meter dash with a time of 22.85.
Freshman teammate Najah Underwood (Hendersonville, N.C.) impressed by registering 10.18 meters in the triple jump.
Both LMC 4x400 relay teams grabbed third place in their respective races. The men's team turned in a time of 3:31.78 while the women used 4:21.45.
Coach Ley Fletcher's teams will travel to Clemson, S.C. on Jan. 10 to participate in the Orange and Purple Classic.
