LMC Track & Field Completes Successful Weekend

BOONE, N.C. & WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. --- Sophomore Erin Bingham broke her own school record in the 60-meter hurdles and freshman Jamie Colon claimed fifth in the 5,000-meter run while the Lees-McRae track & field squads participated at the ASU Invitational and Hilton Gardens Invitational over the weekend in Boone and Winston-Salem, N.C.

ASU Invitational

Colon (Acworth, Ga.) turned in a time of 21:51.08 to grab a top-five finish in the 5K.

Bobcat freshman Jordan Brigman (Asheville, N.C.) impressed in the long jump by claiming ninth with a leap of 4.67 meters.

Freshman Jennifer Warren (Piney Flats, Tenn.) cranked a 2:40.20 time in the 800-meter run.

Freshman pole vaulter Josh Cady (Aiken, S.C.) cleared 4.03 meters, which is a Conference Carolinas best this indoor season.

Senior Joshua Soto (Aiken, S.C.) completed the 200-meter dash in 23.56, giving him a 10th-place finish.

Hilton Gardens Invitational

Bingham (Jefferson, N.C.) bested her own mark in the 60-meter hurdles while turning in a time of 9.02 seconds in the preliminary round. She later finished 19th overall with a mark of 9.18.

Senior Malcom Peeler (Raleigh, N.C.) impressed with a ninth place finish in the triple jump with a leap of 13.57 meters.

The Bobcats will travel to Johnson City, Tenn. to participate in the ETSU Invitational Feb. 6-7.
