Reed Breaks Record at ETSU Invitational


JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. --- Sophomore Tyree Reed broke the school record in the 60-meter dash while the Lees-McRae track and field teams participated in the ETSU Buccaneer Invitational over the weekend in Johnson City, Tenn.

Reed (Phenix City, Ala.) broke his own record when he turned in a time of 7.01 seconds in the event and finished 17th.

Freshman Austin Thompson (Cleveland, Ga.) churned out a time of 9:19.64 in the 3000-meter run and finished in 18th in the event.

Junior Cody McNeely (Salisbury, N.C.) earned a top-25 mark in the 800-meter run with a time of 1:59.76.

Junior Erin Bingham (West Jefferson, N.C.) was good for a 21st-place finish in the 60-meter hurdles when she completed the event in 9.372 seconds.

Coach Ley Fletcher’s squad travels to Winston-Salem, N.C. to participate in the UCS Invite Saturday, Feb. 20.
