NEW ORLEANS, La. – Six members of the Lees-McRae College track & field programs landed spots on the All-Southeast Region teams the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association announced Monday afternoon. Joshua Cady, Kendall Isler, Haanes Huyck and Christian Lloyd were the four honorees from the men's team, while Erin Bingham and Mekayla Boswell were also named to the All-Region team from the women's squad. The six honorees are the most for the Bobcats during the indoor season since 2012 when LMC had seven athletes make the squads.
Cady and Lloyd both received All-Region honors in the pole vault, while Huyck was named in the 60m Hurdles and Isler was honored for his performances in the triple jump. Bingham joined Huyck as an honoree in the 60m Hurdles and Boswell rounded out the accolades in the high jump. Additionally, the Bobcats broke five school records during this indoor season in various events.
The top-5 individuals in each event from each region earned All-Region distinction, in addition to each of the members of the regions' top-3 relay teams. The regions used for this award – Atlantic, Central, East, Midwest, South, South Central, Southeast and West – match those used during the cross country season.
On the women's side 493 women captured the honor from 120 different institutions, while a whopping 572 men captured the award from 119 different institutions.
LMC will open the outdoor season March 18 when it competes in the Lenoir-Rhyne Invitational.
