Track & Field heads to Clemson for the Conference Carolinas Outdoor Championships this weekend

BANNER ELK, N.C. – The Lees-McRae College track & field programs will travel to Clemson, S.C. this weekend to compete in the Conference Carolinas Outdoor Championships.

LMC was last in action two weekends ago at the Beynon Catamount Classic in Cullowhee, N.C. The men's team notched a seventh place finish out of 11 squads, while the women's team finished 11th out of 13 teams.

Individually, four LMC student-athletes posted top five finishes in Cullowhee. Erin Bingham was fourth in the 100m hurdles with a time of 14.64, while Chloe Maddox was also fourth in the pole vault with a mark of 2.70m. On the men's side there were a pair of fourth place finishes as well in the 800m run (Cody McNeely) and the 110m hurdles (Haanes Huyuck).

The meet is scheduled to get underway at 1 p.m. Friday afternoon before wrapping up at 4:30 p.m. Saturday with the awards ceremony.
