HIGH POINT, N.C. – The Lees-McRae College track and field programs had seven of their student-athletes be named to the Academic All-Conference teams Wednesday afternoon by the league office. The men's team had five student-athletes recognized in Marcus Anderson, Lane Graves, Shawn Graves, Brett Page and Austin Thompson, while the women's squad had two members of its team recognized in Makayla Estep and Kaitlyn Gearing.
The seven Bobcats were among 68 track and field athletes to be recognized with this honor. Student-Athletes make the team for maintaining a cumulative grade point average of 3.25 or higher on a 4.0 scale. GPA is calculated based on the student-athlete's cumulative average through the previous semester, and each student-athlete must have attended their member institution for at least one academic year. Academic All-Conference Teams are comprised of juniors and seniors who play in one of Conference Carolina's twenty-one sponsored sports.
Each year the Academic All-Conference Teams are released as part of the championship season. The Conference Carolinas Outdoor Track & Field Championships will take place April 27-28 from the campus of Southern Wesleyan University in Central, South Carolina.
