Bobcats Get Bitten

The Lees-McRae College Bobcats volleyball team hosted Warner Southern College Friday evening, falling in four games, (32-34, 23-30, 30-24, 26-30), at Williams Gymnasium. The Bobcats fall to 1-2 on the season.

The Bobcats almost squeezed out game one, as the teams battled back and forth with the visitors escaping with a hard fought 34-32 win. With momentum, Warner Southern managed game two before the Bobcats came back to life. The Bobcats dominated game three before a see saw affair in game four saw the visitors take the match off a Bobcats block that landed out of bounds.

Seniors Justin Harris and Justin Wozniel led the Bobcats attack with 13 and 12 kills respectively, with eah picking up three block assists. Freshman Grant Cassell, (pictured top left), continued his strong play with an errorless game, smashing 10 kills and a .666 hitting percentage. Senior Luis Lazzaballet had a team high 42 assists for the Bobcats while Elias Valentin had a team high 11 digs.

The Bobcats return to action with a road trip to Missouri. February 9th the Bobcats take on Missouri Baptist before facing Peru State and Missouri Valley College February 10th.
