INDIANAPOLIS --- The Lees-McRae College men's volleyball team is ranked in 13 individual and team categories in the first installment of the NCAA Division I men's volleyball statistics, announced NCAA officials Monday.
Lees-McRae (4-6) enters the week ranked 18th in the nation in assists per set (11.47) and digs per frame (8.0). The Bobcats are also listed 20th in kills per set (12.18), 23rd in blocks per set (2.15), 24th in aces per frame (1.03), and 25th in hitting percentage (0.253).
Senior libero Juan Ramirez (Miami, Fla.) is off to a strong start this season, entering the week ranked second in the nation in digs per set, while fellow veteran Chad Mercado (Orlando, Fla.) is listed third in the country in kills per set (4.84). Freshman setter Randy Ramirez (Guaynabo, Puerto Rico) is ranked in a pair of categories, entering the week listed 15th in assists per set (10.47) and 49th in aces per frame (0.25). Juan Ramirez is also ranked 37th in assists per set (1.58), while Mercado is listed 42nd in digs per frame (1.68).
Lees-McRae returns to the court on Tuesday when the Bobcats host King College (Tenn.) in a Conference Carolinas matchup at 7:30 p.m. in Williams Gymnasium.
