BANNER ELK, N.C. – After a pair of matches on the road, the Lees-McRae College men's volleyball team will open a four-match home stand with two matches at Williams Gymnasium this weekend. LMC will host Barton Friday before closing out the weekend with a tilt against Mount Olive Saturday. First serves are scheduled for 7 p.m. and 2 p.m., respectively.
Last Time Out – Lees-McRae won its last match Saturday when it won a five-set decision at Emmanuel (GA). LMC's record improved to 4-6 overall and 2-3 in conference play, which matches the team's win total from the previous two seasons combined.
Tops in Kill and Assists – LMC currently leads the conference averaging 11.69 kills per set and 11.03 assists per frame.
Playing the best at home – Freshman Wes Rogman has saved his best for the Williams Gymnasium faithful this season. Rogman leads the team with 47 kills and is averaging 3.13 kills per frame. Through the play of Rogman and the rest of the other Bobcats, LMC has a record of 2-2 at home in 2017.
Keenan keeps up stellar play – Senior libero Keenan Freitas totaled a season-high with 19 digs in Saturday's win at Emmanuel (GA). With the performance Saturday, Freitas now has 500 digs for his collegiate career. The senior from Hilo, Hawaii also leads the nation averaging 3.36 digs per set.
Series Rewind – Barton and Mount Olive have held the edge in the series against the Bobcats over the past several years. The Bulldogs have won six straight meetings against LMC with Lees-McRae's last win coming in 2013. UMO, meanwhile, has won 14 straight in the series. LMC's last victory in the series was in 2009.
