BANNER ELK, N.C. – The Lees-McRae College men's volleyball team rallied from dropping the first set to upend Belmont Abbey College in four sets Tuesday evening at Banner Elk Elementary School. The victory improves LMC's record to 7-13 overall and 5-7 in conference play. The five league wins by the Bobcats are the most for the team since the 2013 season when they notched 10 wins in conference.

1st Set – The duo of Wes Rogman and John Sobel combined for eight kills on 12 attempts to open the match, but the Crusaders attacked a little bit more efficiently than Lees-McRae on their way to 27-25 victory in the first frame.

Belmont Abbey hit a match-high .286 in the first on 28 attempts compared to LMC's mark of .192 on 26 attempts. BAC also had a varied offensive attack, which contributed the win as three players had at least three kills in the stanza.

2nd Set – Rogman continued his hot-hitting in the second totaling six kills on eight attempts with just one error for a .625 hitting percentage. Through the play of Rogman and the Bobcat defense, LMC was able to even the match at one a side with a 25-18 win.

The closest the Crusaders came to tying the score was early as they came back to get within two of LMC, 7-5. Belmont Abbey did have a 6-1 run late in the match to close the gap a bit, but the earlier lead proved too much to overcome.

4th Set -  In what proved to the final set of the evening, the Bobcats put together their best offensive set of the match hitting .385 as a team on their to a 25-19 set win. A major key in LMC's offensive efficiency in the fourth was its variety as five different players had at least two kills in the frame.

Stat Leaders – Rogman finished just one dig shy of a double-double Tuesday after notching 16 kills and nine digs. The 16 kills marked a new career-high for Rogman as well. Mark Shayka contributed to the victory from the service line with four aces. The four aces are the most of any Bobcat this season. Defensively, Keenan Freitas paced the Bobcats with 14 digs.
