BANNER ELK, N.C. – The Lees-McRae College men's volleyball team will travel to the Palmetto State for a Conference Carolinas match against North Greenville on Saturday. The match is scheduled to get underway at 2 p.m.
Last Time Out – Lees-McRae was swept in its last time out against Mount Olive last Saturday. The loss moves LMC's record to 9-15 overall and 7-9 in conference play.
Back in the postseason – With just two matches remaining in the 2017 regular season, the Bobcats have clinched a spot in the Conference Carolinas tournament for the first time since the 2014 campaign. Depending upon the results around the league, the Bobcats could finish anywhere from fifth to seventh in the league standings.
National Leader – Senior libero Keenan Freitas currently leads the nation with 264 digs this season. Additionally, Freitas is second nationally in terms of digs per set (3.03) behind only Sacred Heart's Joshua Ayzenberg who is averaging 3.13 digs per frame.
On the Road Again – Lees-McRae is in the middle of a four-match road swing to close out the regular season. The Bobcats have three wins away from Banner Elk already this season, which is the team's most road wins since 2014 and matches its road win total from the last two seasons combined.
Series Rewind – The Bobcats swept NGU earlier this season when the two teams matched up in Banner Elk. If Lees-McRae knocks off the Crusaders again on Saturday, it will mark the first time it has swept NGU in a season series since it joined the league in 2015.
