BANNER ELK, N.C. – The Lees-McRae College men's volleyball team will close out its regular season Tuesday when it hits the road to take on Limestone College. The match is scheduled to get underway at 7 p.m. from Gaffney, S.C.
Last Time Out – Five different members of the Bobcats had at least six kills to help lead the Bobcats to a 3-0 sweep (26-24, 25-23, 25-21) of North Greenville Saturday afternoon in Tigerville, S.C. The win improves LMC's record to 10-15 overall and 8-9 in conference action.
Playoff Push – With one match to go in the regular season, the Bobcats are looking to cement their seed for the conference tournament. Lees-McRae is currently fifth in the conference standings. If LMC wins Tuesday night then they will keep the No. 5 seed for the tournament and will take on Limestone on April 18 in the quarterfinal round. If they lose, however, the Bobcats will be the No. 6 seed.
Conference Victories Note – The Bobcats have won eight conference matches this season, which is the most for the program since the 2013 season. Additionally, the eight league wins are more than the team's win total in conference over the past three seasons combined.
Series Rewind – Limestone rallied from two sets down to upend the Bobcats in five sets when the two teams matched up earlier this season in Banner Elk. The Bobcats are looking for their first win over LC since the 2013 season.
