BANNER ELK, N.C. – The Lees-McRae College men's volleyball team will head out on the road this weekend for a pair of matches at Barton on Friday and Mount Olive on Saturday. The first serve Friday is set for 7 p.m., while Saturday's contest is set to begin at noon.
Last Time Out – The Bobcats fell in four sets to Limestone last Saturday at Williams Gymnasium. With the loss, LMC's record stands at 2-9 overall and 0-4 in league matches.
Snapping the Road Skid – Lees-McRae will look to snap an eight-match losing streak in true road matches. The Bobcats have not won on the road since they swept North Greenville last April in Tigerville, S.C.
Efficient offense is the key – A key for the Bobcats and their success this season has been how well they have hit as a team. In its wins, Lees-McRae is hitting .233 as a team compared to a .159 clip in its losses.
About the Opponents – Both Barton and Mount Olive sit near the top of the Conference Carolinas standings as we near the end of the second month of the season. Barton is still unbeaten in league action sitting at 6-0 and 8-6 overall. UMO, meanwhile, is 8-4 in 2018 and 5-1 in conference play.
Series Histories vs. Opponents – There is no shortage of history between the Bobcats and their two opponents this weekend. LMC, which has played Mount Olive more times than any other team in program history, is 5-23 all-time against the Trojans. As for the series against the Bulldogs, Barton has won eight straight against the Bobcats dating back to 2013.
