BANNER ELK, N.C. – The Lees-McRae College men's volleyball team will return to the court on Saturday with a trip to league rival North Greenville University. First serve between the Bobcats and Crusaders is scheduled for 7 p.m.
Last time out – Lees-McRae dropped a 3-0 (25-18, 25-11, 25-16) decision on the road at Barton College last Saturday. With the loss, the Bobcats move to 1-10 overall and 0-8 within Conference Carolinas action.
Solid outings from Sims – One constant for the Bobcats this season has been the play of Drew Sims. Sims has scored in the double-digits in five of the last six matches, including a 10.5 point outing at Barton. For the season, Sims leads Lees-McRae with 119 points scored.
Chris among conference leaders – Junior Chris Woolslayer currently ranks fifth within the conference averaging 2.32 digs per set. Woolslayer needs just 33 more digs to move into 10th place on the program's all-time digs list.
About North Greenville – NGU has enjoyed quite a bit of success in the early part of 2019. The Crusaders enter Saturday's match with the Bobcats with an 8-5 record overall and a 5-2 mark in league action. North Greenville has been especially tough on its home court boasting a 4-0 record coming into the weekend.
Series history vs. NGU – The Crusaders are 5-4 all-time against the Bobcats with one of those victories coming earlier this season in Banner Elk by a score of 3-0. Additionally, Lees-McRae is 2-2 all-time at North Greenville.
