  • Men’s Volleyball signs a pair of student-athletes for 2019

    BANNER ELK, N.C. – Lees-McRae College Head Men’s Volleyball Coach Henry Chuang announced the signing of Nicholas Cookingham (Villa Park, Ill.) and Drew Sims (Stevenson Ranch, Calif.) on Monday afternoon. Cookingham and Sims are the first signings for Chuang and the Bobcats as the team preps for the upcoming 2019 season.

    BANNER ELK, N.C. – For the second straight season, the Lees-McRae College men’s volleyball team will compete in the Conference Carolinas men’s volleyball tournament. The tournament will begin Tuesday, and LMC’s first round opponent is co-conference champion in the regular season, King. The first serve for Tuesday’s match is set for 6:30 p.m. from Bristol, Tennessee.

    BANNER ELK, N.C. – The Lees-McRae College men’s volleyball team closed out its 2018 regular season on a high note as it picked up a 3-0 sweep (26-24, 27-25, 25-17) of conference rival Erskine Friday night at Williams Gymnasium. With the win, LMC’s record improves to 4-21 this spring and 2-14 within conference play.

    NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Lees-McRae College men’s volleyball player Michael Wahl was recognized Monday by being the Off the Block/Molton National Libero of the Week. Wahl is the second Bobcat player to receive a player of the week honor this season joining fellow freshman Robert Bowling who earned the Conference Carolinas Player of the Week honor back in January.

Unfortunately for the Bobcat faithful in attendance, the Trojans edged the Bobcats in five sets (25-20, 20-25, 23-25, 25-23, 15-11). The loss dips LMC’s record to 3-20 overall and 1-13 in conference on the campaign.
