Simpkins Leads Bobcats to Citadel Invitational Win

CHARLESTON, S.C. - Sophomore runner Craig Simpkins won the individual as the Lees-McRae College men's cross-country won the 2009 Citadel Invitational Saturday.

Simpkins finished with a time of 26:53.91 on the 8k course. Michael Davis finished second with a time of 26:59.12. Sondre Thorbergsen finished in fourth with a time of 27:29.78, and Chris Holestein finished in seventh with a time of 27:43.68 to round out the Bobcats in the top ten. Nate Trimble finished 11th with a time of 28:12.38 to complete the Bobcat's top five runners. Luke Aton finished 12th, and Jordan Gillespie finished in 16th.

The Bobcats return to action on October 16th at Blue Ridge Mountain Open in Boone, N.C.
