Bobcats Finish Fourth at NCAA Southeast Regionals

WINGATE, N.C. - The Lees-McRae College men's cross country team finished in fourth at the NCAA Southeast Regional host by Wingate University, just one place from advancing the nationals.

Craig Simpkins led the Bobcats with a 24th place finish and a time of 33:57 and teammate Michael Davis ran 34:02 for 26th place. Chris Holestein finished in 31st place with a time of 34:17, and Nathan Trimble ran a 34:30 for 35th place. Sondre Thorbergsen ran a 34:37 to finish in 36th place to round out the Lees-McRae scorers. Those five runners scored the Bobcats 147 points.

Luke Anton ran a 36:32 and Connor Gray ran a 38:48 to complete the Lees-McRae runners.

Queens won with 28 points and Columbus State finished in second with 70 points. Mars Hill was the final team to advance to the NCAA National Meet with 96 points.
