LMC Men's Cross Country Tabbed Fourth in Conference Carolinas Coaches' Preseason Poll

HIGH POINT, N.C. --- The Lees-McRae men's cross country team was picked fourth in the Conference Carolinas coaches' preseason poll, the conference office announced Thursday morning.

Coach Ley Fletcher's squad is coming off an impressive 2015 campaign that saw the Bobcats finish fourth in the Conference Carolinas Cross Country Championship.

LMC placed three runners in the top 25 and advanced to the Southeast Regional.

The Bobcats bested conference foe Limestone by 113 points and finished 16th as a team.

LMC boasts six upperclassmen, including seniors Sean Condon (Walnut Cove, N.C.) and Cody McNeely (Salisbury, N.C.).

Mount Olive was tabbed the conference favorite after earning 90 points and nine first-place votes. King (Tenn.) earned second with 81 points and a first-place vote.

Limestone grabbed third with 73 while LMC edged out North Greenville by one point, 62-61.

Barton (48), Belmont Abbey (39), Southern Wesleyan (37), Pfeiffer (26) and Erskine (21) round out the top 10.

The Bobcats open their season at the Covered Bridge Run in Boone, N.C. Friday, Sep. 2.
