LMC Cross Country competed at the Royals Challenge on Friday

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Lees-McRae College cross country teams competed at the Royals Challenge Friday evening in Charlotte, N.C. The women finished 35th out of 40 teams that competed, while the men came in 23rd out of 39 squads.
A pair of sophomores paced LMC on Friday. Austin Thompson recorded the top time on the men's side with a time of 26:28.5, while Jordyn Halverson finished the women's 5k race with a time of 21:22.8.
SCAD Atlanta's Emily Kearney notched the top time on the women's side (17:32.4), and James Quattlebaum, who was competing unattached, logged the lowest mark for the men (23:53.5).
On the team side, Davidson won the women's team title and Lee finished on top for the men.
The Bobcats will return to action in two weeks at the Conference Carolinas Cross Country Championships Nov. 21 in Concord, N.C.
