BANNER ELK, N.C. – The Lees-McRae College cross country programs announced their respective 2017 schedules Monday afternoon. Both the men's and women's teams will compete in six races this fall with the first occurring Sept. 1 in Boone, N.C. at the Covered Bridge Run.
Following their season-opening race in Boone, the Bobcats will also take part in the Appalachian State Invitational on Sept. 16, the Bulldog Stampede on the campus of Wingate University on Sept. 23 before leaving the state of North Carolina for the only time in 2017 Oct. 7 to take part in the 45th Annual Gene Mullin Cross Country Invitational in Greenville, S.C. That race will take place on the campus of Furman University.
LMC will close out the month of October at the Conference Carolinas Championships on Oct. 20 in Concord, N.C. The men's team notched a second place finish, while the women's finished ninth in the event in 2016. The Bobcats will then close out their season two weeks from then when they make their second trip to Wingate, N.C. on Nov. 4 to compete in the Southeast Regional Championships.
