HIGH POINT, N.C. – The Lees-McRae College cross country programs were selected second and ninth in their respective Conference Carolinas Preseason Polls the league office announced Monday afternoon. The men's team received the second place nod, while the women's squad was tabbed ninth in the poll.

The men's team had three runners recognized as runners to watch and they were: Austin Thompson, Lane Graves and Shawn Graves. For the women's squad, meanwhile, Sarah Bowman, Kaitlyn Gearing and Jordyn Halvorsen were named runners to watch for the Bobcats this fall.

In the men's poll, Mount Olive was the only team to garner more points than the Bobcats as the Trojans collected 70 points and seven of the eight first-place votes. The Bobcats were not far behind as they collected 61 points and notched the eighth first-place vote.

Following Mount Olive and Limestone, North Greenville (74 points), Belmont Abbey (64 points) and Barton (57 points) all finished in the top five. Rounding out the bottom half of the poll were Southern Wesleyan (53 points), King (42 points), Converse (34 points), Lees-McRae (26 points) and Erskine (14 points).
