Men’s Cross Country finishes 11th at the NCAA Southeast Regionals

WINGATE, N.C. – The Lees-McRae College men's cross country team posted an 11th place finish out of 23 teams at the NCAA Southeast Regional Championships Saturday morning in Wingate, N.C. LMC finished behind only Mount Olive, who finished first, among Conference Carolinas schools in the event.  

Overall, the Bobcats had seven runners compete on Saturday. Junior Austin Thompson posted the top time for the Bobcats with a mark of 33:57.01, which slotted him in 43rd place out of 153 runners. Sophomore Nolan Capps also placed in the top third of finishers coming in at 48th with a time of 34:09.15. Josh Hall (71st – 35:07.36), Shawn Graves (76th – 35:12.10), Tristin Bertie (78th – 35:15.06), Mateo Defoor (93rd – 35:49.54) and Lane Graves (95th – 35:56.24) also competed for Lees-McRae.

The Bobcats are set to return the majority of their team for next fall. LMC will lose a pair of runners to graduation, but it is scheduled to return 10 runners for 2018.
