Cross Country kicks off its 2018 season Saturday

BANNER ELK, N.C. – The Lees-McRae College cross country programs will begin their 2018 seasons Saturday racing at the Chick-Fil-A XC Invitational in Salisbury, N.C. Both races will take place in Salisbury Community Park with the anticipated start time of 8:30 a.m.

Men's Preview – The Bobcats were picked to repeat their second place finish earlier this month when the Conference Carolinas Preseason Coaches' Poll was announced. The trio of Austin Thompson, Nolan Capps and Josh Hall were all tabbed as runners to watch for LMC this fall. Along with the trio of Thompson, Capps and Hall, the team returns other five other runners from last season's team. Joining the fray in 2018 will be five freshmen in Cori Eatmon, Anton Ledell, Brent Newlan, Quinn Reeves and Andrew Ybarra.

Women's Preview – On the women's team, the Bobcats were picked to finish 10th in the league's preseason poll earlier this month. LMC will be a youthful team in 2018 as it only has two upper classmen on its roster to go along with six freshmen.
