Lees-McRae's Megan Davis Named Softball Player of the Week

Thomasville, N.C.--Lees-McRae College's Megan Davis (7-1 overall, 0-0 conf.) has been selected as the NCAA Division II Conference Carolinas softball Player of the Week during week number one in the 2008 season (includes all games played so far). Megan Davis had an outstanding performance for Lees-McRae over their first eight games. Defensively the sophomore from Alexis, NC had only one passed ball in three games at the catcher's position and played the outfield in five other games with no errors and a perfect 1.00 fielding percentage.

For the week she batted at a.500 clip with 12 hits, 5 doubles, 11 RBIs, 12 runs scored, 6 stolen bases (perfect 6 for 6), and a slugging percentage of .708. Her performance has helped lead the Lady Bobcats to a hot start with a 7-1 record.
