Coley Signs with Lady Bobcats

Banner Elk, N.C.--Kim Coley of McDowell High School in nearby Marion, North Carolina has signed a written commitment to attend Lees-McRae College and play softball next year for the Lady Bobcats.

Coley is currently her team's shortstop. She has also played 3rd base and can play outfield. Lees-McRae College Head Coach Julie Kennedy is excited about her speed and versatility.

"Kim can do a lot of things. Most importantly she has guts," said Kennedy commenting about backwards diving play she made on her recruiting workout this fall. "You can't teach that."

Coley has been successful offensively her senior season as well. With her speed, she has on base percentage is .507 while her batting average is a respectable .404. Coley is also the captain of her team.

When asked how she made her college choice Kim said, "I decided to come to Lees-McRae because I liked the friendly people … I love Boone and snowboarding."
