Campbell ranked second in nation in saves

INDIANAPOLIS --- Junior Bryce Campbell (Amherst, Va.) is ranked second in the nation in saves, and the Lees-McRae College softball team is listed in 12 individual and team categories in this week's edition of the NCAA Division II softball statistics.

Lees-McRae (16-19, 4-2 Conference Carolinas) is in the midst of a tremendous season, entering the week tied for second in the league standings after sweeping a doubleheader with Pfeiffer University on Sunday afternoon. The Bobcats also enter the week ranked 70th in the nation in stolen bases per game (1.37), and 71st in home runs per contest (0.69).

Campbell has come on strong of late, entering the week ranked second in the nation with four saves after closing out Sunday's game one win against Pfeiffer. Fellow junior Lindsey Huntsinger (Asheville, N.C.) continues to be ranked among the nation's leaders in several categories, including home runs (21st/9.0) and slugging percentage (69th/0.745). The two-time conference player of the week is also ranked 77th in home runs per game (0.26).

Freshman Karli Robb (Hayes, Va.) is once again listed among the nation's leaders in several categories, entering the week ranked 27th in triples (3.0), 47th in sacrifice hits per game (0.26), and 69th in three-baggers per contest (0.09). Senior Magen West (Whitney, Texas) is ranked 65th in walks allowed per seven innings (1.49) and 91st in victories (8.0), while Laurel Gregg (Mars Hill, N.C.) is listed 66th in total strikeouts (83.0). Freshman Hollie Crickenberger (Boydton, Va.) is also listed 57th in saves (1.0).

Lees-McRae returns to the diamond on Friday when the Bobcats travel to Belmont, N.C. to take on Belmont Abbey College in a conference twin-bill. First pitch is slated for 2 p.m.
