Bobcats drop pair at Rebel Spring Games

KISSIMMEE, Fla. --- Lori Fulmer (Prosperity, S.C.) and Kierstie Moon (Oxford, Ga.) each tallied two hits, as the Lees-McRae College softball team dropped a pair of contests to Tiffin University and Wayne State University (Mich.) on Friday at the Rebel Spring Games.

Tiffin (5-12) weathered a furious rally by Lees-McRae (5-22) in the first game of the day, before Wayne State (7-9) held the Bobcats without a base runner in a perfect-game effort in the night cap.

Fulmer and Moon both recorded a team-high two hits, as Sadie Lagle (Harmony, N.C.) scored two runs. Moon, Jessica Smith (Gastonia, N.C.) and Amanda Decker (Apex, N.C.) each drove in a run for the Bobcats. Holli Crickenberger (Boydton, Va.) got the nod in game one, surrendering six earned runs and walking three in seven innings of work. Kristen Oakes (Lenoir, N.C.) took the ball in game two, allowing two earned runs on four hits and striking out two.

Game One: Tiffin 8, Lees-McRae 5 (Box Score)

Tiffin got on the board early, plating a run in each of the first two innings before doubling the advantage to 4-0 in the third on back-to-back RBI doubles by Jena King and Kasie Sepeda. After the Dragons pushed the lead to 5-0 in the fourth, Lees-McRae answered with four runs in the bottom of the inning, cutting the margin to 5-4 when Lauren Lewis (Concord, N.C.) scored on a wild pitch.

The Bobcats evened the tally at 5-5 with a run in the fifth, completing the rally on a RBI triple by Moon that scored Lagle from third.
