The Tornado (7-14, 3-2 CC) used a complete game shutout effort from Morgan Lowe (6-5) while Chrissy Melcher produced most of the game's offense with three RBI.

LMC loaded the bases in the top of the fifth after Alix Green (Little Mountain, S.C.) reached following a hit by pitch.

Freshman Teresa Dickson (Lexington, N.C.) and Sarah Stallings (Greensboro, N.C.) collected consecutive singles. However, Lowe buckled down and retired the next two batters to get out unscathed.

Rodriguez doubled to open the bottom of the fifth and would score on an Amanda Sports single up the middle.

Melcher delivered the knockout blow when she connected on a two-run blast to left, 4-0.

Both teams combined to leave 12 runners on base.
