BANNER ELK, N.C. – The Lees-McRae College softball team will hit the road again this week for six games. LMC will take on Lincoln Memorial Wednesday in a twin bill before taking on Johnson C. Smith and Mercyhurst Friday. LMC will also play Sunday against Virginia-Wise and Concord. Friday's and Sunday's games will be played at Lenoir-Rhyne. Game times are set for 1 and 3 p.m. Wednesday, 4 and 6 p.m. Friday and noon and 4 p.m. on Sunday.
Last Time Out – Lees-McRae is still in search of its first victory of the season after its opening week of play. The Bobcats, now 0-6, have played Carson-Newman, Newberry and Anderson (S.C.) so far this season.
Dutton leading the way at the plate – After six games, senior Charlie Dutton has been the leading hitter for the Bobcats with three hits in five at-bats. This continues a trend for Dutton as over the past two seasons, she has been one of the most productive hitters in LMC's batting order with batting average of .353 over the past two seasons.
Billings in the circle – Fellow senior Taylor Billings has been LMC's top pitcher so far this season. Billings boasts a 2.92 ERA in 12 innings pitched on the season with six strikeouts. In addition to her work in the circle, Billings also has the lone home run for Lees-McRae this season with a solo blast Sunday at Anderson (S.C.).
