    JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. – The Lees-McRae College softball team’s doubleheader Thursday at Carson-Newman has been postponed due to wet field conditions. A make-up date for these games has not been determined.

    HICKORY, N.C. – The Lees-McRae College softball team dropped a pair of extra-inning games on the road Saturday at Lenoir-Rhyne. Lees-McRae fell in game one by a score of 3-2 in eight innings before dropping game two by the score of 8-7 in eight innings.
  • Softball alters weekend schedule with threat of inclement weather looming

    HICKORY, N.C. - With the threat of possible inclement weather looming, the Lees-McRae College softball team has altered its game schedule for this weekend. Instead of playing four games against three different opponents on Saturday and Sunday, the Bobcats will take on only Lenoir-Rhyne Saturday afternoon in a traditional doubleheader. First pitch of that twin bill is set for 2 p.m.

    GREENEVILLE, Tenn. – The Lees-McRae College softball team’s doubleheader Wednesday at Tusculum has been postponed due to unplayable field conditions. The games will be made up on February 26 and will have start times of 3 and 5 p.m.
  • Softball preps for six games this week

    BANNER ELK, N.C. – After opening its 2019 season last Sunday at Anderson (S.C.), the Lees-McRae College softball team will compete in six games this week. First, the Bobcats will travel to Greeneville, Tennessee for a twin bill at Tusculum Wednesday beginning at 2 p.m. Following those games, Lees-McRae will head to Hickory, North Carolina to take part in the Lenoir-Rhyne Bear Bash on Saturday and Sunday. The Bobcats face Fairmont State and Virginia Wise on Saturday and then Lenoir-Rhyne and Virginia Wise again on Sunday. Saturday’s games are set to be played at 4:30 and 6:30 p.m., while Sunday’s contests are set to begin at 1 and 3 p.m.
  • Bobcats fall twice at Anderson to open 2019 season

    ANDERSON, S.C. – The Lees-McRae College softball team fell twice on the road at Anderson (S.C.) University Sunday afternoon to open its 2019 season. Lees-McRae dropped game one by a score of 6-1 before the Trojans picked up an 11-3 victory in five innings in game two.

    HIGH POINT, N.C. – 167 Lees-McRae College student-athletes were named to the Conference Carolinas Presidential Honor Roll for the fall semester Friday morning by the league office. The conference and its member institutions stress the importance of the motto “Champions in Body, Mind & Soul,” and the student-athletes named to the Presidential Honor Roll exemplify the commitment to being Champions in Mind.

    BANNER ELK, N.C. – With the spring sports season a few short weeks away, the Lees-McRae College softball team released its schedule for the upcoming 2019 campaign on Wednesday. The 48-game slate for the Bobcats is scheduled to get underway on February 10 at Anderson (S.C.).
  • Softball picked to finish fifth in Conference Carolinas Preseason Poll

    HIGH POINT, N.C. – The Lees-McRae College softball team was picked to finish fifth in the annual Conference Carolinas Preseason Coaches’ Poll Tuesday afternoon. Along with the poll, Caitlyn Ray, Noel Cassidy and Kara Cunningham were all selected as players to watch for the Bobcats this spring.
