  • Softball drops a pair of close ones to Bloomsburg and Coker Saturday

    HARTSVILLE, S.C. – The Lees-McRae College softball team dropped a pair of close games to open the Coker Spring Tournament on Saturday. First, the Bobcats fell to Bloomsburg by a score of 5-3 before being blanked by undefeated Coker in their second game of the day, 1-0. The results Saturday move LMC’s record on the spring to 3-11.
  • Kara Cunningham named Conference Carolinas Pitcher of the Week

    HIGH POINT, N.C. – Lees-McRae College softball player Kara Cunningham was named the Conference Carolinas Pitcher of the Week this afternoon by the league office. It is the second time that Cunningham has won the league’s pitcher of the week honors in her career, and it marks the first weekly honor for the Bobcats this spring.

    GREENEVILLE, Tenn. – The Lees-McRae College softball team picked up a split on the road at Tusculum Tuesday afternoon. The Bobcats won the first game 3-1 before falling in game two by a score of 2-1. With the results on Tuesday, LMC’s record stands at 3-9 on the season.
  • Softball has six games on tap this week

    BANNER ELK, N.C. – The Lees-McRae College softball team will be back in action this week with six games on tap. LMC will start off the week with a twin bill at Tusculum on Tuesday before competing at the Coker College Spring Tournament with two games on Saturday and two more on Sunday. Tuesday’s contests will begin at 2 p.m., while Saturday’s and Sunday’s will start at 10 a.m. and 9 a.m., respectively.

    AIKEN, S.C. – The Lees-McRae College softball team earned a split on the road at USC Aiken Sunday afternoon. LMC won the first game by a score of 6-5 before falling to the Pacers in the second contest of the day, 10-6. With the results Sunday, Lees-McRae’s record stands at 2-8 on the season.

    GREENWOOD, S.C. – The Lees-McRae College softball team dropped a pair of games on the road at Lander Saturday afternoon by scores of 4-3 in 10 innings and 8-0 in six innings. With the results Saturday, LMC’s record stands at 1-7 on the season.
  • Softball splits a pair of games at Anderson on Tuesday

    ANDERSON, S.C. – The Lees-McRae College softball team split a pair of games in Anderson, S.C. Tuesday afternoon. LMC picked up its first win of 2018 in game one defeating Anderson (S.C.) University by a score of 1-0. Anderson, however, knocked off the Bobcats, 5-4, in game two. With the results Tuesday, Lees-McRae’s record moves to 1-5 on the season.
  • Softball preps for three doubleheaders this week

    BANNER ELK, N.C. – After battling wet weather over the past two weeks, the Lees-McRae College softball team hopes to get all three of its scheduled doubleheaders in this week. The Bobcats will travel to Anderson Tuesday before heading to Lander Saturday and USC Aiken Sunday. Tuesday’s twin bill is scheduled to get underway at 3 p.m., while Saturday’s and Sunday’s contests are slated for 2 and 1 p.m. first pitches, respectively.
  • Softball announces schedule changes for this week

    BANNER ELK, N.C. – With inclement weather and poor field conditions expected over the next few days, the Lees-McRae College softball team announced some changes to its schedule for the upcoming week. First, the doubleheader that was originally supposed to be played at Tusculum today will instead be played at 2 p.m. Thursday in Greeneville, Tennessee. Additionally, this weekend’s Lenoir-Rhyne Bear Bash has been cancelled. Instead the Bobcats and Bears will matchup in a twin bill Friday afternoon in Hickory, North Carolina. The start time for that doubleheader is set for 2 p.m.
  • Softball preps for six games this week

    BANNER ELK, N.C. – After opening its 2018 season last weekend, the Lees-McRae College softball team will be back in action with six games this week. First, Lees-McRae will travel to Tennessee on Tuesday to take on Tusculum in a twin bill beginning at 2 p.m. Following the matchups with the Pioneers, LMC will compete in the Lenoir-Rhyne Bear Bash on Saturday and Sunday. The Bobcats will take on both Lenoir-Rhyne and UVa-Wise once on each day of the event.

    BANNER ELK, N.C. –The Lees-McRae College softball team’s doubleheader at Anderson (S.C.) University originally scheduled to be played today has been postponed due to inclement weather in the area. LMC and Anderson will now matchup in a twin bill on February 13 with game times being 3 and 5 p.m.

    JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. – The Lees-McRae College softball team dropped a pair of games at No. 20 Carson-Newman Saturday afternoon to open its 2018 season. LMC fell in game one in five innings by a score of 8-0. C-N was able to finish off the sweep with a 3-0 victory in the second game of the day.
  • Softball hits the road for a pair of doubleheaders to open its 2018 season

    BANNER ELK, N.C. – Coming off its most wins in a season since 2011, the Lees-McRae College softball team is looking to take more steps forward in 2018. The 2018 Bobcats start their new campaign with a pair of non-conference doubleheaders this weekend. First, LMC will travel to Jefferson City, Tenn. to face Carson-Newman on Saturday before traveling to South Carolina on Sunday to take on Anderson. Saturday’s games are scheduled to begin at 1 p.m., and Sunday’s are scheduled for a 1:30 p.m. start time.
  • 157 Lees-McRae student-athletes named to the 2017 Fall Conference Carolinas Presidential Honor Roll

    HIGH POINT, N.C. – 157 Lees-McRae College student-athletes were named to the 2017 Fall Conference Carolinas Presidential Honor Roll on Thursday morning by the league office. Eight teams had 10 or more student-athletes honored with the men’s and women’s soccer squads leading the way with 19 and 18 honorees, respectively.

    BANNER ELK, N.C. – The Lees-McRae College softball team released its 2018 schedule Monday afternoon. The Bobcats, who are coming off their highest win total since 2011 with 15 wins last season, are set to play 46 games this spring with 23 coming at the LMC Softball Field.
  • 11 Lees-McRae Softball players named NFCA All-America Scholar-Athletes

    LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The National Fastpich Coaches Association (NFCA) announced that 11 Lees-McRae College softball players earned NFCA All-America Scholar-Athlete honors for the 2016-17 academic year. Sarah Beth Ashley, Noel Cassidy, Kara Cunningham, Chelsea Digregorio, Valerie Hickey, Karly McRary, Emily Merriam, Andi Milan, Gabrielle Moyer, Megan Paradise and Kara Travis all received this honor for their work in the classroom.
